Living Arrows {2018} 11/53

March 12, 2018

Every week I join in with Living Arrows, a blog linky run by Donna at What the Redhead Said. The name Living Arrows comes from a poem by Kahlil Gibran; “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”, and each Monday I share a photo of M and a bit about what we’ve been up to the previous week.

This past week has been a bit of a whirlwind as on Tuesday we discovered that, as well as being breech, the new baby is measuring small, so they want her to be born before the end of this week! As a result, I’ve fallen straight into a schedule of hospital visits for pre-ops and steroid injections, as well as M having a scheduled hair cut. Around that I’ve been frantically buying the last minute bits and pieces that we need to be ready for baby’s arrival, while trying to spend as much quality time with M as possible, before she becomes a bit sister!

So in an effort to do some fun things with M, as well as getting things scheduled for the blog so that I can have a bit of blog-free time once the baby is here, I’ve been trying to set up and do as many activities as I can with her. This week’s Living Arrows photo is of M in her tuff spot, enjoying a dinosaur-themed activity that I set up for her.

I was so pleased to see her getting stuck in – this is the first time she has actually climbed into the tuff spot to play rather than just skirting around the outside! I think she enjoyed the texture of the artificial grass in the tuff tray as she’s asked me to put it back in, since. If you want to see more of this activity, I put a live video in my EYFS learning activity Facebook group, Play, Craft, Explore. Come and join us there!

I have no idea what next week’s Living Arrows will look like! I’m hoping by this time next week, I’ll be back home to M with baby, but who knows what the future will bring. Exciting times!
