Every week I join in with Living Arrows, a blog linky run by Donna at What the Redhead Said. The name Living Arrows comes from a poem by Kahlil Gibran; “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”, and each Monday I share a photo of M, and one of B, and a bit about what we’ve been up to the previous week.
This week has been a big week for us, as M turned two years old. With a newborn in the house, we didn’t really have the inclination or the energy for a big party, so instead we had the grandparents round for a barbecue. I think M enjoyed her low-key day, though, as we went to our local Bookbears class in the morning, which she loves, then took a jaunt into the woods with her giant number two balloon to take some lovely photos. The photo I’ve chosen for this week’s Living Arrows, though, is of M just after she blew out the candles on her birthday cake. We’d just asked her whose birthday it was that day, and you can see the joy and pride in her eyes that her answer was, “mine!”
B’s photo was taken on Sunday when she was on her play mat. She is having more and more alert periods now and is starting to try to reach for the various hanging things. Yesterday she was smiling up at the coloured lights, so I think the play mat is a bit of a hit for her. She is gradually starting to sleep for longer periods at night, too, so that is very welcome! I am going to pretend that sleep regressions don’t exist…
This week is half term so we have got Daddy at home for the week. We haven’t made any plans at all, other than a much-needed hair appointment and a massage for me, that I bought a Groupon for back in January! I’m looking forward to a lovely relaxed week. If you’re on half term, I hope you have a lovely week too!
