Every week I join in with Living Arrows, a blog linky run by Donna at What the Redhead Said. The name Living Arrows comes from a poem by Kahlil Gibran; “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”, and each Monday I share a photo of M, and one of B, and a bit about what we’ve been up to the previous week.
This week has been spent enjoying the sunshine and mostly chilling out at home, aside from our usual classes. I put the teepee up in the garden to create a bit of extra shade and M has been enjoying watering the plants for me with her toy watering can! We had a week off from the hospital, as B’s visits for her Pavlik harness are now fortnightly. It was nice not to have to rush around getting to that, although I think B will be glad for her bath when we go next week as I’m not allowed to remove her harness (and therefore bath her) at home!
This week’s photos are both on the subject of play. M’s photograph is of her at the park. She is ‘driving’ the pirate ship – a task she was taking very seriously! I love the way her sunhat is shoved haphazardly on her head – I imagine I probably chased after her to put it there. Fortunately, she seems a lot happier to wear a hat this summer than she was the last one. Which is just as well, as she has such fine and light hair that her scalp seems to turn red after just a few minutes in the sunshine.
B’s photograph was taken on the same trip to the park. She’s now 15 weeks old and has really started to play with her hanging Lamaze toy. She frequently hits the hanging rattle, which is something I don’t remember M ever doing (of course, being the second child, it’s a hand-me-down toy!).
B doesn’t seem to really nap very often at the moment, but fortunately she seems content enough to play with her pram toy and generally chill out. And thankfully, she’s sleeping through at night, so I’ll take napless days in exchange for that, any day of the week!
