Living Arrows 36/52 {2019}

September 9, 2019

Every week I join in with Living Arrows, a blog linky run by Donna at What the Redhead Said. The name Living Arrows comes from a poem by Kahlil Gibran; “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”, and each Monday I share a photo of M, and one of B, and a bit about what we’ve been up to the previous week.

Last week was all about back to school. Back to preschool for M, and back to school for Matthew, although actually he was starting at a new school, in a new role as headteacher. M has switched from three afternoons per week to five mornings, although she only started on Wednesday, so we’re yet to see the full impact of that just yet! She did have a good lie in on Saturday morning, though, which she rarely does, so I think they are keeping her sufficiently busy at preschool!

As soon as I took this photograph earlier in the week, I knew it had to be my Living Arrows photograph today, despite the massive cardboard box in the background!

It was taken on Thursday, when M came home from preschool. I’d promised her that we would make some more blueberry muffins (we still have a freezer full from all of our blueberry picking during the holidays!). Normally, B doesn’t get involved with the baking, but on this occasion she wanted to join in, so of course we let her.

This was her ‘first stir’ and I love the fact that M looks as excited for B, as B is to be stirring! B is at the age where she’s able to get involved more now, and it’s so great to see her relationship with M developing. They are definitely going to be partners in crime as M keeps taking B off to get up to mischief with her!

But they also have their good moments too. One day last week it all got a bit ‘too quiet’ and I rushed off to find them… reading books together! Very cute. Unfortunately I also find them emptying every last toy from the toy box or going through my underwear drawer, 66t6 just as frequently!

      They can be so lovely together; it’s so nice watching their relationship develop now that B is getting bigger and more able to join in with things x

    Aww, they’re so cute together – I bet they’re going to be the best of friends as they grow up 🙂

      M said to B earlier, “you’re my best friend in the whole world!” They’re not always so lovely to each other, but I do hope they continue to be close as they grow up.
