Living Arrows 28/52 {2019}

July 15, 2019

Every week I join in with Living Arrows, a blog linky run by Donna at What the Redhead Said. The name Living Arrows comes from a poem by Kahlil Gibran; “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”, and each Monday I share a photo of M, and one of B, and a bit about what we’ve been up to the previous week.

Last week wasn’t the best; I spent most of it work through period-related anxiety. I’ve heard about it before, and I think to an extent I suffered from it before having children, but it’s become more noticeable since my periods have returned after having B. Nevertheless, we still got outside every day, even if it was just B and I going for a slightly longer walk home after dropping M off at preschool. Getting outside definitely helps. We haven’t had perfect sunshine, but it’s been okay.

This week, I’m only sharing one photograph of both of the girls. On Saturday, we went to one of our favourite places; High Lodge at Thetford Forest. We had a lovely picnic and a very short (in distance) but long (in duration!) walk as B insisted on being on foot for it!

We tried to get a nice photo of the girls together, and this was the best we could do. By the time B was invested in having her knot taken, M had got tired of waiting for her to sit in the right place.

Despite its imperfections, I like this photograph because it shows B’s latest response to anything that she’s even vaguely happy or impressed by; clapping. She’s also enjoying making me clap my hands and saying, “clap!”

Hopefully this week will be sunnier both in my mood, and the weather!

A weekly photo diary of our daughters' lives, at one and three years old. This week, we've been trying to take a photograph of both girls together, at the same time!

      Sometimes we just hop in the garden for a quick play, but it does make a big difference getting a bit of fresh air! x

    Aww, look at them – they’re so cute, and B is getting so big now! Hope you’re feeling better this week x

      Thank you, this week has been better, as it’s gone on. I know, B is so grown up I feel like I have two toddlers, rather than a baby and a toddler! x
