Every week I join in with Living Arrows, a blog linky run by Donna at What the Redhead Said. The name Living Arrows comes from a poem by Kahlil Gibran; “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”, and each Monday I share a photo of M, and one of B, and a bit about what we’ve been up to the previous week.
Last week, it felt like summer had finally arrived. We had M’s very first sports’ day, walks in the sunshine and a trip to the zoo at the weekend. That’s where M’s photograph was taken, as she watched the penguins being fed, from her vantage point on Matthew’s shoulders.
B’s photograph was taken at home while she was having a nap. She only takes naps on me, in the car or if I’m lucky, in her pram. Her favourite place to sleep is definitely on me, though, and I’m trying my best to enjoy it and not resent not being able to get on with the very long list of other things that I should be doing!
This week we’ll be mostly continuing the countdown until Matthew is off for the summer holidays, while also enjoying the routine of the school week, while we still have it. Hopefully we’ll also get to enjoy some more sunshine!
Holidays will be here before you know it! Have a great week x
I know. It feels slow at the moment but I bet once they’re here, it’ll feel like yesterday that I wrote this! Hope you have a good week, too x
I remember when T was about the same age as B and all I wanted was to put him down and get stuff done but I’d always try and remind myself that he’d grow out of it and I’d miss it. But it was so hard! x
It’s true, I will miss all of the lovely baby snuggles. But I think I’ll also enjoy being able to get stuff done, too! x
It’s such a hard one making the most of those sleepy snuggles or getting a to do list worked on. I try and tell myself that these days will be gone fast so snuggles should win, she looks very content and comfortable on you
I love the snuggles really, but it would be nice to be able to get some things done, too. She has started to say, “cuddle” now, so I don’t think the enforced snuggles are going to stop any time soon!
We’re on countdown to the summer holidays here too. My boys are so tired thwy need the rest! #LivingArrows
The summer is such a lovely time! We’re really looking forward to it.
M’s sunglasses are so cute! And that photo of B sleeping is lovely, such a nice moment to be able to look back on. x #livingarrows
M is completely in love with those sunglasses! I’m sure I will miss those sleepy cuddles with B, when they stop! x
