Every week I join in with Living Arrows, a blog linky run by Donna at What the Redhead Said. The name Living Arrows comes from a poem by Kahlil Gibran; “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”, and each Monday I share a photo of M, and one of B, and a bit about what we’ve been up to the previous week.
Last week was the first full week of the holidays and we really made the most of it! On Monday, we visited Africa Alive! for the first time. We had such a great day there and I’m sure we’ll return.
On Wednesday both girls had their hair cut. M hadn’t had her hair cut since the start of the year, as she kept pulling her hair out, so we thought we’d give it more of a chance to grow. Thankfully M has come out the other side of that phase! Her hair is still very much a mop, though, so she needed a cut!

You can see from the photograph how much M enjoyed having her hair done. It was very sweet!
B had her hair cut for the very first time. She looks a little more unsure than M did, but I suppose that’s to be expected! All of B’s long hair is her original baby hair; when you lift up that delightful combover she’s got going on, there’s another, much shorter hairline. I couldn’t bring myself to have all of her baby hair chopped off, though, so she just had a little trim. I’m sure the new hair will catch up in time!

On Thursday, we went to Roarr! Dinosaur adventure to join in with Dippy the dinosaur’s birthday celebrations. The girls had such a fantastic day and despite it raining just as we arrived, the sun came out for the rest of the day.
Today we’re off to East Sussex to spend a few days in a holiday cottage. Matthew and I are really looking forward to having a change of scenery; let’s just hope the girls’ sleep isn’t too disrupted by being somewhere different!
