Every week I join in with Living Arrows, a blog linky run by Donna at What the Redhead Said. The name Living Arrows comes from a poem by Kahlil Gibran; “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”, and each Monday I share a photo of M, and one of B, and a bit about what we’ve been up to the previous week.
I can’t quite believe that we’ve already had a whole week since our holiday. This summer is disappearing so quickly! We’ve had a couple of days where we’ve chilled out at home, but most days we’ve been out somewhere, doing something!
M’s photograph is a selfie that I took with her on the beach at Winterton-on-Sea, on Monday. I love her smile! This beach is very special to us, because it’s where Matthew proposed to me five years ago. There was something rather lovely about sitting in that same spot, watching our two children playing in the sand in front of us. How much can change in five years!
B’s photograph was taken on Friday in the play area at the pub where we had lunch after going blueberry picking near King’s Lynn. She is such a daredevil when it comes to play areas, and this photograph pretty much sums up her attitude to slides! B doesn’t seem to have any fear, and throws herself down them with a huge grin on her face.
This week, we’ve got some boring jobs to do, but I’m sure we’ll also have some more lovely days out to make the most of the last couple of weeks of the holiday.
Lovely pictures. And totally agree with you about summer disappearing too quickly! Only 2 weeks left till mine are back in school, it’s flown by! xx
I know, only two weeks until Matthew stars his new job and M is in nursery every morning! I am enjoying the holidays but a small part of me is also looking forward to getting into a regular routine again! x
Awww such lovely photos, our kids were also blackberry picking yesterday- it’s such fun for them!
Glad to hear you’ve had fun fruit picking, too. It’s definitely something we’ll be doing again.
Lovely photos, I got a warm feeling inside when you described taking your kids to the place your husband proposed – how lovely #LivingArrows
It did feel rather special being there. Hopefully we’ll take lots more trips there.
Awww how lovely to return to the spot with the girls. Very special memories and I’m sure many more to come x
It was very special! We haven’t been able to get to that beach much over the last few years, and it’s suffered quite a bit of erosion recently, so it was good to get back there. Fortunately our special spot was unscathed! x
Your two always look so happy and that picture of you and M is just beautiful! x
Thank you. They are generally a happy pair, but they do still have their moments and clingy/grumpy days! x
Aww, these are both such lovely pictures. It sounds like you’ve been having a lovely summer – I bet the girls will be sad when Daddy goes back to work x
Thank you! They are certainly missing him being around all the time, but I’ve been keeping them busy so it doesn’t feel like too long until Daddy is home! x
