Living Arrows 38/52 {2019}

September 23, 2019

Every week I join in with Living Arrows, a blog linky run by Donna at What the Redhead Said. The name Living Arrows comes from a poem by Kahlil Gibran; “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”, and each Monday I share a photo of M, and one of B, and a bit about what we’ve been up to the previous week.

Last week was mostly about sorting out the house. I feel like our house kind of imploded over the summer holidays and it really needs whipping into shape. I feel like I made some progress, but there’s still lots to do! I only really manage to do anything productive while M is at preschool, and B likes to sleep on me for the last hour of that time, so once we’ve factored in the two school runs, I have about 90 minutes to get everything done in the morning. As a result, it’s slow progress!

B’s photograph was taken at the start of the week, when we tried using cloth nappies for the first time. I had very limited time to take the photos, and she was a little star, bless her. She loves choosing which pattern nappy to wear and I am slowly getting to grips with how to fit them so that they don’t leak!

As for M, her photograph was taken on the preschool run on Thursday, which also happened to be Matthew’s birthday. We baked him a cake together in the afternoon, which both girls loved doing and we all enjoyed eating. Having a birthday on a Thursday was nice as it made the weekend feel as though it was starting early (although Matthew still had to work on Friday!)

This week I’m hoping to get more sorting done, although we have another Thursday birthday this week – mine! I have plans to meet a dear friend for lunch (with the girls in tow, of course!), but other than that, nothing on the agenda. I try to set low expectations for birthdays now, so that I always have a good day!

    I definitely feel the same about the whipping into shape. Just 2 weeks until we move and then I can get back to organising and having a tidy life! x

    That’s great that you have made the switch to cloth nappies – love the print on this one, how lovely and colourful #livingarrows

      We only have enough for one day, so with drying time at this time of year, she’s only in them about a quarter of the time. I’m hoping to build my collection with time!

    Oh gosh, she looks so happy in her cloth nappy! So pleased you’ve made house progress. Mine is back sorted since the summer but now I’m surrounded by gift guide stuff! x
