Living Arrows 52/52 {2019}

December 30, 2019

Every week I join in with Living Arrows, a blog linky run by Donna at What the Redhead Said. The name Living Arrows comes from a poem by Kahlil Gibran; “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”, and each Monday I share a photo of M, and one of B, and a bit about what we’ve been up to the previous week.

I’ve been totally rubbish at knowing what day it is this week, so I’ve had to backdate this post to the date it should have been published. Whoops! I think that’s always the way with the week between Christmas and New Year though, so I won’t beat myself up about it too much.

This week’s photographs were both taken on Christmas Day. I know it was B’s second Christmas, but it kind of felt like her first proper one, if that makes sense? This year she was so much more aware of the magic of Christmas, although obviously M was far more invested in the whole thing! Even so, B took the whole business of opening her Christmas presents very seriously indeed!

M was completely into the whole thing. It was so lovely to see her so completely believing in the magic of Father Christmas, insisting on leaving out a mince pie and a cup of orange juice for him, along with a carrot for the reindeer, of course! She has already questioned why there appears to be more than one Father Christmas (we’ve met ‘Santa’ a few times over the festive period), though, and she’s only three! So I’m not sure how long we’ll be able to keep up the unwavering belief for. She doesn’t miss a trick, that one!

I’ll be spending the rest of this week reminding myself what day it is, before M goes back to preschool next week. I think she’s looking forward to seeing all of her little friends again!

    I know exactly what you mean by her first proper Christmas. The actual ‘first’ one they don’t really have any idea what’s going on. I bet she loved it this year! Happy new year lovely x

      She did. She enjoyed everything about it – I think next year will be even more fun now that she knows what it’s all about! Happy New Year to you too x

    I love B’s serious present opening face! We told the boys Father Christmas has lots of helpers in the run up to Christmas but you never know if you might be seeing the real one 🙂

    Hope you had a lovely Christmas and New Year and I’ll look forward to seeing more of your girls with another year of Living Arrows x
