Living Arrows 25/52

June 19, 2017

This week has been lovely. I only had to work on Friday morning, so it feels like I didn’t really work at all last week. It was so nice being able to spend all of my time with Little M. We had trips to the park with friends, a trip into Norwich for some shopping with grandma and grandpa, and a wander around the supermarket. Even supermarket shopping is fun with Little M, as she waves and smiles at the other shoppers.

Little M also seems to have got back into her naps, provided she goes down for her second nap before 1pm. A bit of experimenting this week has taught me that! I don’t think she’s ready to drop her second nap just yet. It’s interesting, isn’t it, how parenting is this constantly evolving entity? Just when you think you’ve got it sussed, another aspect of your child’s learning and behaviour comes along and you have to rethink everything! You’d think that having studied aspects of child development in psychology at A-level, degree level and my teacher training that I should be surprised by this! I suppose it has helped me to have some understanding of what is happening with Little M at each stage, but parenthood still continues to be a huge learning curve. I wouldn’t have it any other way though. It’s fascinating to watch her develop and learn.

This week’s photograph is in honour of Father’s Day, yesterday. It was taken on Saturday while we were at a sensory party for one of Little M’s friends. It was such great fun, and has made me certain that I want to invest in a tuff spot for home. I’ve been saying about it to hubby for a couple of weeks and he didn’t realise what I was going on about until we went to the party and he saw them. Thankfully, I think he’s sold on the idea now too as he asked how much they were and didn’t respond when I told him! I think I’ll order one now and prepare for lots of sensory, crafty adventures! The only question is, which colour?

  1. They are always changing and surprising us aren’t they! I have two and I still find myself winging it a lot of the time haha xx

Ah she looks so dinky still! That sort of thing looks so much fun – and not something I ever did with my two x

Aww, she looks like she’s having a lovely time. I never really did anything like that with my two, that’s what they go to nursery for! #LivingArrows

Little M won’t go to nursery for a while yet. Hubby has instructed me to order a tuff spot so I’ll be purchasing one imminently for more sensory play opportunities at home!
