Living Arrows 46/52

November 13, 2017

Ugh, this week! As you’ve probably noticed, the blog has been a little quiet. That’s mainly because all of my usual blogging time has been swallowed up by a big freelance educational job, which is lovely as I need all the money I can get before I start maternity leave, but it means that the blog has had to firmly take a back seat. So sadly I’ve still been glued to my laptop at all hours while Little M has been asleep, but not had a chance to update you on what we’ve been up to. Which isn’t much, really!

This week’s Living Arrows photo just sums it up. I’m sorry it’s not a piece of photographic wonderment. It’s Little M, playing with a (probably) germ-infested toy in the doctor’s waiting room. Because it feels like when I haven’t been working, I’ve been waiting to see a medical professional of some description! This week, I’ve seen my renal consultant, the midwife, and we spent four hours in A&E on Friday evening! Don’t worry, all is well, but still, it didn’t leave much time for taking blog-worthy shots of Little M!

This week has been very special where Little M’s concerned, though. I feel like I can finally describe her as a walker! She took her first unaided step a couple of weeks ago, then this past week, she’s really found her feet (pardon the pun, I think I actually mean it literally though)! Funnily enough, A&E really brought out the walker in her (confirming that we probably didn’t need to be there anyway, but you know – better to be safe than sorry!) and she very much enjoyed entertaining the waiting room with her experimental toddling antics.

Then this weekend she has really gone for it! She spent most of Sunday standing up, looking meaningfully at the nearest adult, then shrieking and cackling with delight has she toddled to wherever it was that she wanted to go! It’s so, so lovely seeing her walking and enjoying her achievement so much. She’s still crawling most of the time when she wants to get to something, but it’s obvious that she’s realised that walking is actually quite good. So hopefully I’ll be able to get some proper walking shots of her soon. At the moment I’m too busy enjoying watching her and trying to stop her hurting herself when she falls!

Oh well done little lady!! Such a massive milestone. Sorry you’ve been so busy with work but it really is a good thing and the great thing about blogs is they will always be there when you have the time x
