Seventh Generation Cleaning Review #AD

October 13, 2017

I’ve been trying really hard to get my bum in gear recently, and keep on top of the housework. I was fed up with living in a tip. Don’t get me wrong, we still live in a tip quite often as Hurricane Little M is a permanent fixture, but I was tired of having piles of washing all over the place and clutter everywhere. I’ve been doing a bit of KonMari, which has been great for reducing clutter, but still didn’t have any motivation to crack the cleaning. Until, that is, Seventh Generation sent me an awesome hamper of cleaning goodies!

Seventh Generation Cleaning Products

I must admit, I’m pretty set in my ways when it comes to cleaning products and generally tend to buy the same brands all the time, as sometimes these things get pretty expensive, and I always worry that I’ll be wasting my money on something that sounds good, but doesn’t actually clean properly! So to begin with, I was dubious about trying Seventh Generation, especially as their products are made with plant-based ingredients. I mean, really, how is that supposed to clean?!

Well, I’ll tell you what: it does. Very well indeed! And, because it is plant based, it’s non-toxic, so safe to use around pets and children. Which is reassuring when your child likes to kiss you through the French doors just after you’ve cleaned them! Of course, these products would still be dangerous if your child got hold of them and tried to drink them, so I keep them in a locked cupboard, but it’s good to know that they’re just a little bit more friendly when you’re having a good spray!

Seventh Generation Cleaning Review

I think my favourite product is the Seventh Generation Glass & Surface Natural Cleaner. I used it to clean the French doors and windows in our kitchen/living/dining room, and it feels so much brighter in there! Which is just what we needed given that the days are getting darker and murkier at this time of year. The Glass & Surface Natural Cleaner promised to be streak free, and it was true to its word, leaving a lovely finish with very little effort.

Hubby’s favourite is the Seventh Generation Natural Dish Liquid. I think he likes the scent (it’s lavender and mint). Given that he’s in charge of the bottle washing, which he’s been finding a bit tedious of late, I think he’s found it a welcome change! We also like the 4x concentrated Seventh Generation Natural Laundry Detergent. It has quite a subtle scent, which I much prefer to other brands.

Overall, we’ve been very impressed with the Seventh Generation range, so I’d definitely consider buying it in future, despite it being a little pricier than my usual brands. If you’d like to try it, you can find on Amazon.

I think it’s new to market in the UK. I’ve seen it in Tesco though, so you can find it there if you’d like to try it (and enter my giveaway, of course!).

First I have ever heard of this brand but would love to try it all the same, always open to new products! Especially knowing it is natural and made for sensitive skin matters a lot as my son has many allergies to cleaning products.
